João Conde
Brazilian Writer and Director
João Pedro Conde
Passionate about transforming ideas into stunning visual narratives, João Conde has been making films since the age of 12. At that age, he fell in love with the filmmaking process after making a short-film for his father and seeing him cry for the first time. Highly educated (Bachelor’s degree in Cinema Studies, Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, 2021) and owner of his own film business in Brazil, João is known for his keen ability to convey emotion to the screen, with powerful sensitivity, humor and outstanding visuals. He is a strong believer that the constant study of the human mind and perception is fundamental for the excellence of visual storytelling.
For the past 5 years, he has been working as a director, screenwriter and director of photography in Brazilian commercials, corporate videos and short-films. In 2020, he was the winner of the Quarantine Film Challenge (best film) at the San Diego International Film Festival with his film “Dear Time” (2020). Presently, he is intent on expanding his film presence by moving to the Los Angeles area and working as a Director in commercials and entertainment.
